Zephyr is an asynchronous messaging system. At it's most basic it is a glorified version of the UN*X "write" command. At it's best it is a simple, yet powerful way to send and recieve simple messages to a single person, or many people across a network.
NOTE: Zephyr relies on Kerberos for user & service authentication. These documents assume that you already have (or can obtain) Kerberos credentials. For information on how to check your own credentials, see the Kerberos documentation.
